The Seven Steps Of The Complete Church Assessment

1. Prayer and informing of the congregation by the pastor and board

2. The self-study materials are prepared by the church and sent to the Church Health Consultant

3. A demographic survey (Know Your Community) is purchased by the church and a church health survey is completed by church members (I recommend the Ministry Match).

Secret seekers may visit the church on a Sunday…

4. The Church Health Consultant conducts his weekend visit:

Interviews are conducted with the senior pastor and his wife
Possible Friday evening “Journey Wall” exercise with interested church members
Saturday interviews with board members and other church leaders
Saturday and/or Sunday Focus Groups with church attendees
Saturday building tour
Sunday morning visit
Possible Sunday noon lunch with the board – Brian’s last round of questions

5. The Assessment Report is written by the consultant and presented to the senior pastor and the board via Zoom or live

6. Pastor and board craft an action plan and present it to the congregation OR Brian presents recommendations to the congregation

7. Church Health Consultant offers follow-up meetings, teaching sessions, sermons and counsel with the pastor, the board and/or the congregation
